CAMPUS MOVE MIGRATION
A premier laboratory relocated to high-performance facility
MKThink conducted a fast-tracked space inventory and utilization study of the Stanford Linear Accelerator Campus (SLAC), a multi-purpose research laboratory for astrophysics, photon science, accelerator, and particle physics. Data analysis from the 63 buildings informed the institution’s migration from obsolete trailers and subpar offices to a new high-performance facility. MKThink led the migration process with a plan designed to maximize productive adjacencies between researchers and meet the defined space needs of the SLAC team. MKThink used the occupancy of temporary facilities to test and refine adjacencies and space allocations before the final move into the permanent campus.
CHALLENGE
A fast-tracked space inventory and utilization of Stanford Linear Accelerator Campus.
APPROACH
MKThink led the migration process with a plan designed to maximize productive adjacencies between researchers and meet the defined space needs of the SLAC team. MKThink used the occupancy of temporary facilities to test and refine adjacencies and space allocations before the final move into the permanent campus.
RESULT
Analysis of the data collected informed the institution's migration from obsolete trailers and subpar offices to a new high performance facility.
