WILLIAM H NEUKOM BUILDING

“This building will foster interaction and collaboration, essential to the kind of intellectual environment that is the hallmark of Stanford Law School” - Dean Larry Kramer

As identified in its 2001 Go Forward Plan, Stanford Law School needed more space to accommodate growth in student enrollment, new faculty positions, and the expansion of its academic clinics. MKThink led the assessment and concept validation for a new building and partnered with Ennead Architects on the final design. The state-of-the-art building helped extend the heart of campus, create a cherished student-oriented quad, and increase faculty and student interaction. It houses an expanded law clinic, faculty offices, and meeting and collaboration spaces. Smart-building systems give occupants control over lighting, thermal comfort settings, and indoor air quality. The central courtyard offers serene views, maximizes natural light, and calls to mind Stanford’s historic quads. The visual aesthetic strengthens the school’s identity on campus.
