Project Description

Jim Russell Racing School

Infineon Raceway is a stark departure from Sonoma’s otherwise bucolic landscape. It’s metal and machine. Testosterone and technology. Speed and the roar of engines. Adrenaline and octane.

MKThink’s design for the Jim Russell Racing School brings the excitement of the track into the classroom and in a cost effective and environmentally conscious way. The design aesthetics pay homage to racing and high performance driving with the use of metal, glass, motion, curves, and color.

The new facility features a learning and demonstration area, media center, café, and lounge overlooking the track at Turn 1 of the storied raceway. The building solution created an affordable, high-performance teaching facility to support and expand the Jim Russell Racing School and its driving skills programs.
